It ends up being a massive amount of photos to cull and is mostly spray and pray. This year however I went with a plan. In the past I would wander through the street party to the start of the Parade and find a spot and shoot the floats and performers. This year however I only wandered through the street festival and focused on street portraits. I had my Fujifilm 33m f1.4 (50mm FF equivalent) and my Godox IT30 Pro flash for fill flash. Whenever I saw an interesting person I approached them talked for a minute and asked for a portrait. In the end I had more photos that I was happy with than I expected and I had fewer shots to cull at the end of the day. I also discovered that the fill flash did not work on all shots or was either too strong or too weak. I obviously still have some learning to do.
